It is snowing.

A lot.

But we are open and will be until 7 PM.  See you soon.

Bon Appetit Mentions Us

Yesterday, a customer let me know that we were mentioned in the newest issue of Bon Appetit magazine.  It turns out that they did a Top Ten list of the Best Boutique Coffee Shops in the country and we were included.  Find it on their website here.

Also, we had our in-house barista competition to determine which of our baristas will represent us at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Barista Competition in March.  Congrats to Jeremy, Grant and Randy.

Melenje/Borrero Microlot and Video

This morning, we added a microlot from Manuel Melenje and Ines Borrero–two dedicated farmers from Colombia that have provided us with a delicious tiny lot of coffee.  We will only have this coffee for about a week so enjoy it while you can.

Also, watch this video of Manuel Melenje talking about his coffee:

Peregrine Gift Guide

Wondering what to get a coffee-drinking loved one this holiday season?  Have no fear.  We have some ideas for you.

First, we have two gift box options:  Gift Box A contains a lovely Peregrine Espresso stainless travel mug and a bag of whole beans boxed and wrapped for $35.

Gift Box B contains everything you need to make a great cup of coffee at home–a ceramic Beehouse dripper, bag of whole beans, a Peregrine mug and a box of oxygen-bleached filters boxed and wrapped for $40.

In addition to the gift boxes, we have great coffee equipment for sale, including Bodum 8-cup (34 oz) french presses for $40 and the Baratza Maestro grinder for $100.  The ever-popular Beehouse Dripper is $15.  Other branded items include tshirts for $15 and our ceramic travel mugs for $18.  Our ceramic table mugs are $8 while the Peregrine stainless travel mug is $23.

Of course, we will also be keeping a lot of whole bean coffee in stock for your boss, your mom, your kids or whomever else might be deserving.  Other gifts include our Vosges and Askinosie chocolate bars and gift cards available in any denomination.

Please note that we do not ship anything larger than a gift card under any circumstance.  We would be willing, however, to throw a gift card in the mail for you–please email ryan(at)peregrineespresso.com to arrange a gift card purchase (please do not call the store for this).

Throughout this season, please consider your locally-owned options when buying for friends and family and keep your money in your community.  For more info, check out the 350 Project.
