New things- v.2

We got a lot of new things the last couple of days. It is very exciting, but everything is now covered in sawdust. Here are a few glimpses of what is going on…

We have a sign…

Some tables and chairs…

The beginning of a coffee bar.

A pour over brew bar.

And some stuff…

Hopefully more to show in the next couple days as we clean some stuff up and finish painting.

  1. hello, i am an excited neighbor, eagerly awaiting your opening! i have one question – do you know how late you’ll be staying open? since murky left theres not much in the area that says open past 7 or 8.

  2. I vote for as late as you guys think is possible. I wonder if the neighborhood could support a coffee shop open till 10 or 11, as is common in Seattle.

  3. oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, ho boy!

Right now, the plan is to be open till 9. Long term, I would love to stay open later but we’ll see.

Back when I was hired at murky in ’03, we closed at 6, I think. The closing time has been frozen at 9 now for a couple years, so it might time to approach this soon.

Of course, whatever happens with the Hine school site might greatly affect the way we do business and when.

  5. Man, the place is really looking sharp. Really can’t wait to try it out.

And for what it’s worth, both myself and my fiancee are major supporters of staying open late — 10 or 11 would be AWESOME.

  6. Are you planning to sell multiple kinds of Counter Culture beans in bulk? I loved being able to buy 10-15 different types of beans at Murky – and hope you can do the same!
