Come Meet the 2009 World Barista Champ!

This Sunday, World Barista Champion Gwilym Davies from London will be a guest barista at Peregrine Espresso.  From 12-3 Sunday afternoon, we are delighted to host Gwilym and invite you all to stop in and meet him.   Of course, you can also come meet our own 2010 Mid-Atlantic Barista Champion Jeremy Sterner (from 2-close) and the rest of our illustrious and talented and awesome staff.

Gwilym came to the US for the SCAA Expo last week and wasn’t able to fly back to London because of all the volcanic ash, so instead he has embarked on an East Coast tour.

USBC Semi-finals Saturday

We just found out that Jeremy will be competitor #24 tomorrow (Saturday) in the United States Barista Championship in Anaheim.  According to the schedule, he is likely to compete around 4-4:30 PST (7-7:30 EST).

We will be updating our twitter feed with any changes in schedule.  Please check out usbaristachampionship.org for the live feed and sprudge.com for other news related to the USBC and the SCAA Expo in general.

We are also projecting the live feed on the wall in the shop so feel free to come by the shop Saturday evening to watch Jeremy compete.

United States Barista Championship

This week is the Specialty Coffee Association of America’s annual Symposium and Exposition, this year held in Anaheim, CA.  Happening concurrently is the United States Barista Championship, which our own Jeremy Sterner is competing in.

After winning the Mid-Atlantic Regional Barista Competition, Jeremy will be competing Saturday in the semi-final round and it will all be streamed live on usbaristachampionship.org (beginning Thursday morning).  We are working on having the competition streamed via projector in the store but we are finalizing those details.

Once we know what time Jeremy will be competing Saturday, we will post that info here.
