Grand Reserve Tasting This Saturday 7 PM

This Saturday, January 23, come by Peregrine at 7 PM for a special tasting event.  We will be offering up free samples of Aida’s Grand Reserve, a special blend of coffees from the three farms owned by Aida Batlle in Santa Ana, El Salvador: Finca Mauritania, Finca Kilimanjaro and Finca Los Alpes.  Meredith Taylor, one of our managers, recently visited El Salvador and will be sharing pictures and experiences from her time there.  We are also excited that producer Aida Batlle will be joining us via webcam from El Salvador to add to the discussion.

Come taste some delicious coffee and learn about how great coffee gets from a farm in El Salvador to your cup in DC.

Gus Comstock Day!

On this date in 1927, Gus Comstock of Fergus Falls, MN, consumed 85 cups of coffee in 6 hours to set the world record for most coffee consumed.  And it didn’t kill him.

I’m proud to say that I was born and raised in Fergus Falls, MN, and maybe there’s something to our coffee-drinking tradition (both as Minnesotans and Scandinavians) that led me into this industry.  So today, I salute Mr. Comstock and his world record by drinking coffee.  Two cups, even.
